Time to get in shape?

Well we start off another new year. Which of course will l mean tons of people making a New Years resolution to get in shape. Gyms will get crowded for a month or so. I will admit I am no different, I also want to set new goals for 2022. After all 2022 is more likely to have actual in person races! I will of course sign up for the Air Force Marathon and a few others yet to be chosen. So to this end I decided to lay out new personal routines, new training programs,

and adding some weights. Adding in weights and other exercises can improve running performance and lessen the chance for injury. Since I am a member at Beacon Health and Fitness I decided to take advantage of some of their free classes. I took a strength class. Oh boy! It was rough on my legs. I did fine with the upper body stuff, but my legs… wow. I have been less sore after marathons! But it was a good workout. I will of course attend another one. I will wear my knee brace next time. The class otherwise was really good. There were only 4 other people in it. All women, I felt more out of place than usual. And that is saying something. But I hid in the back of the room and tried to keep to myself. I couldn't keep up with the instructor or the other people in the class. But that is part of the reason why I am there to get stronger, right.
